WORD AND DEED: LIVING THE GOSPEL

February 22-24, 2008

Guest Speaker – Dr. René Padilla of Buenos Aires, Argentina

OUR PLENARY SPEAKER, Dr. René Padilla , is passionate about social justice and the church’s role in bringing it about. He grew up in Ecuador and Colombia, earned his Ph.D. in Manchester, England, and now lives in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

He is not only a brilliant author, theologian, evangelist, and missiologist – he has spent his life practising what he preaches. He has participated  in prison ministry, preached on HCJB radio and on the streets, and led IFES (IVCF)  student ministries in Latin America. The church he planted among slum dwellers and drug addicts  became  a model for fusing evangelism and social action. At the pivotal Lausanne Congress and consultations, he was instrumental in advocating a more active role among evangelicals in addressing social issues. Dr Padilla is president of the Micah Network, a worldwide group of organizations aimed at mobilizing Christians against poverty.

CDs of Dr.Padilla's messages will be available after each session for $5, and the complete set of 5 CDs can be ordered for $20.
